GLUTEN-FREE WAFERS… If you have not already done so and require a gluten-free wafer at communion, please speak to one of the stewards or one of the clergy before the service begins.
BABY CHANGING FACILITIES… Baby changing facilities are now available in the disabled toilet, which is through the side door on the left by St Anne’s Chapel.
OFFICE CLOSURE… the office will be closed on Monday 21st July, and on the afternoons of Tuesday 22nd and 29th.
INTERCESSORY PRAYERS… Written prayers may be left on the prayer board by St Anne’s Chapel, behind the organ console. Candles are available at the back of the church. Donations for candles can now be put into the money box marked “Candles” in the pillar at the back of the church.
PRAYER REQUESTS… Requests for inclusion in the public prayers of the church can be made to any member of the clergy. The request will be included in the Sunday 10.30 intercessions for 2 weeks, remembered at Daily Prayer and then posted on the prayer board next to St Anne’s Chapel.
THANKS… Margaret Mackie’s daughter Rita thanks all who sent her mother cards and gifts for her 90th birthday, and all who went to the birthday party.
BOOK GROUP…The next meeting will be on Thursday 7th August, to discuss The Life and Times of The Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. Meetings take place at 6 pm in the Meeting Room, which is next to the Synod Hall door. Tea and coffee available from 5.30.
BIBLE STUDY… The next meeting of the group will be on Thursday 14th August. in the Meeting Room. Tea and coffee from 5.30 pm. Come and discuss the autumn programme.
POETRY EVENING… the next Poetry Evening will be on 21st AugustĀ (and on the third Thursday of each month). Works ranging from the Song of Solomon to Ian Crichton Smith are discussed. The choice of poems is taken in turn by those attending. Meetings take place at 6 pm in the Meeting Room, which is next to the Synod Hall door. Tea and coffee available from 5.30.
GUEST PREACHER… On 3rd August, the celebrant & preacher at Sung Eucharist will be the Right Reverend Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire.
HOMECOMING WEEKEND… By way of marking the 100th year of St Mary’s being the Cathedral Church of this Diocese, there will be a Homecoming Weekend on 6th & 7th September. The weekend will involve special festival services and a concert on the Saturday evening. All those who have been involved with St Mary’s through the years are most welcome. Members of the congregation are encouraged to start sharing this news.
