Date: June 26th 2009

Dear
Just a reminder that we have some special music on this weekend. It is the last week that the choir will be singing at St Mary's before their well earned summer break. In the morning there will be a Jazz Mass, featuring the whole choir of adults and trebles, accompanied by jazz pianist, bass and drums. The service starts at 1030 am and will feature the Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott. In the evening at 6.30 pm there is a special Choral Evensong to mark the first evensong of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, which falls on Monday. The music will include the Gloucester Service settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by Herbert Howells.
Frikki Walker, our Director of Music has put together a music newsletter which gives details of some of the things that the choir and cathedral musicians have been up to recently and looking ahead to what is coming up next year. Also included are details of the awards that the trebles have been working towards. The newsletter is attached to this e-mail in pdf format and will be available in print format on Sunday in church.
If you know anyone who would like to hear the special music we have on Sunday, especially the Jazz Mass, then do pass on an invitation to them.
Best regards
KELVIN
